I was a little paranoid about putting this one up, just out of paranoia since they're my darlings, but I guess I can always chicken out later and drop it. ^_^; Anyway, these are MY BOYS. I roleplay (constantly-- daily-- more than daily--) with my best friend, and for her 19th birthday last year, I drew this picture. Okay, I finished it yesterday, so it took me a year to get around to it, but hey! I got it done. Those are, duh, their names... I guess the only confusing one would be Chase and Nathaniel. Chase is the smirking one with the long ponytail, and Nathaniel is the boy hiding behind his arm. YES, these are ALL BOYS-- even Loki, even Rene, even Stacie, even Sailem, even Altair, etc. etc-- and ALL of them are in YAOI roleplays.

I can't really do backstory on the picture or anything... almost all of the characters are from different roleplays, although some overlap, and we have hundreds of pages-- by now, actually, probably around or over a thousand (note that by "page", I mean single-spaced, Verdana, font size 8) pages. Um, I'd put up a link to them, except we're currently not hosted anywhere and looking for a new domain. This is probably the most complicated picture I've ever done, just from the sheer number of characters, but it was fun. I've decided I'm in love with group pictures. Forgive the lack of any sort of line depth-- I sort of took a look at the finished drawing, and at the thought of doing line depth on everyone, went "Aha... ahaha... ahahahahahaha..." and fell over.

I think my favourite thing about the picture is that most of the characters turned out RIGHT. I have this horrible thing where I can draw the character as they should be maybe once or twice, then can never do it right again. Not all of them are perfect, of course-- Stacie looks off, and Nuri looks childish, and Dax doesn't look remotely how he should, and Brisbane has funny hair. But Loki, Jordan, Chase, Livy, Arachne, Rene, and Kiryama look much more accurate than I expected them to ever turn out again.

(And on Vladimir, I never did actually decide on a set hairstyle... I keep flipping his bangs. So the silhouette is less laziness or effect, and more indecision.)

The dog in Rene's hands is Toy, his crazy pup, and the penguin is Citris (yes, it's supposed to be spelled that way), one of Chase's friends from long ago. The butterflies are random, and don't ask about the dolls. Kitsune really is a kitsune-- he's the manifestation of the legendary fox spirit, looking desperately through lifetimes to find Tanuki. The double-Skittles is to show how he used to be, and what he's become. Grei looks drugged, I know, but he's supposed to-- he's always doped up on medication because he's a reincarnation of one of several fallen angels who control the elements, and his psychiatrist is part of the organization trying to round them up, so she keeps him completely out of it so he doesn't get an idea of what he can do. Sailem is in a band called Sequence, where he uses the name Arai, and Nathaniel's cat ears are from a hat he wears. Nathaniel is my extremely reluctant uke from an RP with *Duomi's stalker character, [link] . Loki has bandages because he bears a family curse that likes to sporadically attack him from the inside out, so he's constantly having gashes explode on his skin-- usually his arms, but more recently, his chest and neck. Dax is reading an anthology (ahem), Seize is a dunpeal/dampiel, Kiriyama is not actually Japanese but moved there when he was little and his family took on a Japanese name, Altair is actually a big bundle of angst wrapped in a cute, bishounen ball, and Livy's been my most tenderly nurtured and abused darling. Lalalalala.
